Just because it didn’t happen the last time you tried, doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen if you try again. NEVER STOP TRYING!!!!!
There are times when life hits you so hard it knocks the wind right out of you. Circumstances you never expected show up on your doorstep one day like an unwanted solicitor demanding your attention. These circumstances give us great pause and sometimes may even cause crippling despair. Because of our limited perspective, we can only see, feel, and understand what we are presently experiencing. The poignancy of the moment blinds us to the greater reality that God has a purpose for our pain, and in time, this purpose will be radiantly revealed if we simply keep living.
The life experiences that I write about in my book, The S.P.E.A.R. Paradigm: Encountering God blinded me from seeing the reality of what God was actually up to. I admit, there were times when I didn’t want to live, but I was too afraid to die. Stuck in a mental purgatory, I allowed depression and anxiety to rule and define my life. I had quietly given up on God and myself.
I lived in this purgatory for years before God finally found me and rescued me. It wasn’t until then that I realized he was there the entire time. Though I walked away from him, I could never escape his compassionate and protective gaze. His mercy has escorted me to a place of healing and wholeness that I never imagined possible. I now see and live my life in full color because of his perfect love. Fear has no place in my life today, and by his perfect love I’ve been set free.
These moments that were captured at my book signing event represent more than just moments in time, they capture my journey of epic failures, discoveries, and awakenings all in a single moment. Will you allow God the opportunity to take you on an amazing journey of your own? Ditch the fear and insecurity, and launch out into the deep. I promise you won’t regret a single moment of it.
